Piano Summit

Fri., Nov. 20, 2015, 7:30pm

Fredric March Play Circle,
Wisconsin Union Theater

It isn't often that four of Madison's veteran jazz pianists come together in one program to individually present their own works in an acoustically strong concert venue. Piano Summit will be an outstanding musical event not to be missed.

JIM ERICKSON is the leader of the "Jim Erickson Trio" and has released a solo compilation titled "Crossroads." Erickson was the winner of the Ibla Grand Prize International Music Competition and has toured the USA with notable performances at New York University and Carnegie Hall.

JANE REYNOLDS is a composer, pianist and music educator with thirty years' experience. She has collaborated with many local artists, releasing a duo CD with Hans Strum titled "Blue Got Up" for which she received a Wisconsin Arts Board composition award. She is a frequent contributor to Tap-it New Works Theater Company and is a co-host of "Strictly Jazz Sounds" on WORT-FM radio.

DAVE STOLER has played professionally for over 25 years. He has been a featured member of the Tony Castaneda Latin Jazz Sextet and has led his own trio.

JOAN WILDMAN is an Emeritus Professor of Jazz Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and has led her own jazz trio for over 25 years, performing all over the nation. She has also recorded her compositions, co-authored a jazz performance text book and has written scholarly journal articles.

While these musicians are celebrities in the Madison Jazz music scene, seeing them all together for one night will be a unique experience no jazz-enthusiast wouldn't want to miss!
